Cowbridge win Paris Invitation Tournament
The boys produced some of their best rugby all season to comfortably win all 4 group games. They then went on to beat Manchester in the semi before overcoming Judd in the Final by 39 points to nil.
Well done boys on your conduct throughout the tour both on and off the pitch.
Aberdare 0 Cowbridge 54
Blues Cup Semi Final
After making a dream start with a try by HDB from the kick off, Cowbridge then had to weather a sustained period of pressure from a stubborn and determined home side, before eventually gaining the ascendancy.
Thanks to Chris and all at Aberdare for being great hosts and to the Ref who was both firm and fair.
This win sets up a Blues Cup Final appearance at The Arms Park against either Pontypridd or Rhiwbina.
Treorchy 7 Cowbridge 57
Treorchy welcomed Cowbridge to the Oval for this Blues Cup Quarter Final, with a torrid opening salvo that resulted in them deservedly going 7 nil up in the first 5 minutes.
The boys weathered the storm and having gained the upper hand at scrum and lineout, made good use of the possession to score some very good tries.
Thanks to Sean and his boys for such a warm welcome and for playing their part in an excellent game of rugby played in the best of spirits and marshalled superbly by the Referee, Wayne.
Cowbridge 50 Bridgend Athletic 3
After a couple of weeks of inactivity, Cowbridge entertained Bridgend Athletic on Sunday. The Athletic have always been an extremely skilfull side with a pacy threequarter line, as the boys have found to their cost in previous encounters. On this occasion however they were denied clean possession by a dominant Cowbridge pack who supplied their own backline with a steady stream of quality ball which they used to good advantage. Credit to both sides for fulfilling this fixture despite absentees arising from district/school rugby commitments and injuries.
Good luck to Tony, Phil, Ian and the boys for the rest of the season.
Cowbridge 50 Ystrad Rhondda 5
A couple of key players missing from the Ystrad XV made this match a little more one sided than previous encounters. Nevertheless a good game in very difficult conditions against last years Blues Cup Finalists, and as always played in great spirits.
